Relaunching Already Heard

  1. Tidying up
One of the main aims was to tidy up the site from an SEO viewpoint. This included all the duplicate posts, long-winded URL slugs, image descriptions/titles, keywords Deleting Duplicated Posts When we transferred the site from Tumblr to WordPress, it caused an issue where hundreds of posts were duplicated more than once, especially album reviews and EP reviews. The site had hundreds of URL post ending in “-2” (or in some cases “-3”). To identify duplicate posts, I exported over 14,000 posts into a spreadsheet, exporting the post title and any image URLs used in those posts. I then organised the spreadsheet (in Google Sheets) by post title A-Z, adding a conditional format of “=COUNTIF(A:A,A1)>1” to highlight duplicate posts. This is when the tedious (but required) work began. For example, there were 2,510 posts that began with the term “Album Review:”. Although not all of these were duplicates. After around two weeks, I went through all 14,000+ posts with 1,660 posts being deleted. I ran another export and repeated the same method to identify any remaining duplicated posts in Google Sheets.
